First Nations in BC have expressed the need for a process that coordinates provincial science and technical capacity related to fisheries and aquatic habitat issues. In response, the FNFC is taking steps to develop the Indigenous Technical Advisory Network (ITAN), a new process that aims to coordinate collective BC First Nations’ science and technical capacity related to various fisheries topics such as salmon, aquaculture, aquatic resource habitat, and oceans management.
As an initial activity, the FNFC is seeking to better understand the capacity and priorities of different First Nations communities and organizations across the province. We’re looking to interview interested First Nations and First Nations organizations to help develop (and participate in) the ITAN process.
If you’re interested in contributing to the survey, please reach out to us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line ITAN Survey. Please include your name, Affiliation/First Nation, and contact information.
Thank you for your participation!
