Day 1, June 1 – Session 3: Collaborative Models from BC
Building off of Session 2, which explores multi-jurisdictional collaborative models, Session 3 will focus on B.C. examples of watershed and regional scale models of collaboration. A facilitated discussion will aim to answer: What can we learn from these processes and how can they inform the development of a salmon recovery framework?
Day 2, June 2 – Session 4: Towards Solutions for Collaboration in BC
Session 4 will start to identify potential solutions that support better collaboration specific to BC salmon, through asking how lessons learned in Sessions 2 and 3 can apply to the development of a coordinated framework for salmon recovery in BC. The key questions to facilitate discussion will be: What are we working towards? What are core strategies to build into a collaborative framework? And, how do we connect our efforts between/across different scales (e.g., watershed, sub-regional, regional/provincial, national, and international)? The goal will be to map out these large, complex conversations at different scales into a digestible snapshot. This snapshot will help to ensure future sessions facilitate appropriate conversations at the appropriate scales and will support the development of an action plan that facilitates coordinated collaboration.
