About the Contest
The 2026 FNFC Drawing Contest invited children and youth under 18 in British Columbia (B.C.) to draw what healthy, clean water means to them. Their perspectives matter, and their drawings tell powerful stories.
What does “Our Waters, Our Future” mean?
The contest celebrated connections to land, water and stewardship through the eyes of children and youth across B.C. Participants were invited to draw what clean, healthy water looks like to them and their communities.
Examples of what to draw included:
▪️ A healthy river, lake, or ocean
▪️ Salmon or other fish returning to their home waters
▪️ Fishing or harvesting with family
▪️ A ceremony, gathering, or cultural practice by the water
▪️ Stewardship work happening in your community
▪️ Any scene that shows what water means to you
